I Can Sit!

#3 has taken off in her development. She went from my tiny baby to being such a big girl! She is still pretty tipsy when it comes to sitting up, but she is so cute when she tries!

#3 loves the dog, and the dog loves her! It must be the maternal instincts. Or maybe she is just buttering her up so that she'll get lots of food in the future!

Crazy Kids Strike Again!

I had to wait a few weeks before making this post because just seeing the pictures gets me boiling all over again! I think I can probably manage now. During nap time a few weeks ago, #1 was being so quite and good, and I went in to commend her on it, and this is what we found. . . She had climbed up in her closet to her high shelf and pulled down her glitter and finger paints. . . Yeah, not cool! Luckily, after renting a rug doctor, most of it came up. There is a small faint coloring of blue on the carpet still, but most people don't notice.

The kids also love to do dishes. I came in the kitchen after Daddy told me I had to go look and this is what we found. They said "Mommy, we're doing the dishes!" #2 was SOAKED!!! But, they were happy so I let them have at it.

It's All Just Stuff After All

I have now been to my very first estate auction. I don't know if they are just more common in the MidWest or if I have just never lived near enough to family to hear of them. An auctioneer comes and sells virtually everything in your home, garage, and any out buildings. A large group of people come and they try to get the best deals they can get!

Grandma and Grandpa are now 96 and 92 and they have decided to move in to an apartment that provides minimal assistance. They decided that it was just getting a bit tough to be on their own any longer. They sold everything. . . and while I watched the auction, I couldn't help thinking how depressing it must be to sell everything that you have treasured and cared about for the past 50+/- years. 2 hours later and you have sold your entire lives collection.

Then I realized. . . it really is just stuff. You wont get what you think your stuff is worth. . . Things go cheaper than at a garage sale. So my solution. . . When I hit 80 I'll have a garage sale or just give it all away. . . that way I wont feel gipped in the end! So, if you think there are things that you can't live without buying. . . think again because it's really just stuff.

All the Grandmas and Grandpas

We made a trip up to Minnesota to see family a few weeks ago. It was nice to see everyone. The kids loved seeing their grandparents. It was fun telling them that they were going to see yet another Grandma or Grandpa. I think they saw 3 Grandmas and 3 Grandpas (including the Grands) in just over 3 days.

This was the few moments that #3 would let me give her to someone else. She was teething and wanted nothing to do with anything that took her from Mommy or Daddy. It was kind of humorous!

Some Things Never Change!

When I was young, we loved statues. J.B. Big Boy was my boyfriend for many years. I would see the statue outside one of our favorite childhood restaurants, and I would instantly hug him and want to hold his hand etc.

There was also the Sinclair dinosaur. I think we climbed all over them and it was fun to see them.

So, it was fun when we stopped at a gas station on our way to Minnesota and my kids had the same experience. It was fun to see the sparkles in their eyes as they climbed on the dinosaur and as they sat next to Ronald McDonald (I don't think they know who he is). I'm sure that is the same thing my parents saw when we were climbing as well! Pure joy. . . Or maybe it is just the joy of being out of the car!

Fun around the House

Somedays, it is such a stress to be a Mommy, and then there are other days when the kids are all just cute and sweet, and I think what else could I ever ask for! These were some of those moments for me! I am so blessed to have kids who truly do love each other even if they don't always show it!

Everyone loves the baby! She gets so much love, and I'm very happy that there isn't any resentment towards her or jealousy as of yet. Well, they are sad when they don't get to hold her, but that is okay!

I've decided that we need a stationwagon for a bike trailor. Hmmm.. I love taking the kids out for rides, and they LOVE it!! But, with three they don't all fit. Hmmm. . . Maybe we'll have to find another one.

Like I said, everyone loves the baby! She even makes a pretty good pillow!

I love seeing #1's faces. She makes some pretty silly ones, but when she smiles she melts my heart! She hasn't learned that yet, but when she does, I'll be in BIG trouble!

#3 has started LOVING the cats. Luckily, both of our cats are very loving and put up with a LOT of abuse. Kitty is just a little too lazy to move and Lucky is too stubborn. I'm just glad that they very rarely retaliate and so far that is just with #1.

Baby Fun!

Our little baby is getting big! She can now roll all over and scoot everywhere on her back. Needless to say, she gets stuck in the crib at times. This time she didn't even fuss!

In the past week, #3 has gotten 2 teeth (she's 6 months now). It seemed that they were never going to really cut through, but they are there!

#1 loves to feed her sister, and she does a very good job!

As I was feeding #3, she knocked the spoon with her hand, and it was quite funny!!

Gracie's Quilt

This was my latest Quilt. I wanted to do something for the daughter of a friend because she has been in and out of the hospital with chemo therapy. I have only made my children quilts in the past and so this was a bit different. I really loved how it turned out. Hopefully it will bring her lots of comfort.
