You Can't Turn Your Back For a Minute

I was making dinner when out of the corner of my eye I saw some flesh outside my window. A had successfully stripped off all of her own clothes and then stripped J's off as well. I guess they were ready to go swimming or something. J thought it was absolutely hysterical! B's only comment was: "Now, there are wet spots on my deck." Haha.. typical male!

Earlier today, we had another fun adventure in the house. J woke up before A and he was playing in the kitchen while I prepared breakfast. Suddenly, he began fussing so I went to check out what was going on. This is how I found him. Yep, my little boy does like strollers and even some dolls. He's even been known to wear girl shoes.


After a nice breakfast of oatmeal, my kids (J especially) were covered from head to toe. I decided that it was time for a morning bath, so I put them in the tub and scrubbed them up. I got J out and dressed for the day. Riley rang the bells to go outside so I left A in the tub and J playing in his room and I let the dog out. As I came back in, A met me at the door to let me know that J had gotten in the tub. Hmmm... So I went to see for myself. Again, Here is what I found.




J definitely thought this was one of the greatest adventures of his life. He was very disappointed when Mommy took him out and made him put on new clothes. Poor kid.

Fort Drum Air Show

Today we headed out for Mountain Fest. It is an all day event on Ft. Drum. We really were looking forward to the air show. We wanted to stay for the Jo Dee Messina concert and fireworks, but by 6PM we were all exhausted and ready to head home.


B could tell you what all of these planes are. I just thought they were cool to look at. The kids enjoyed being able to go into the different planes, and they were even allowed to run around a little. They thought it was great fun! I was just excited to get out of the house and go and do something. (B: These are C-130s)

I had to laugh when B looked fabulous in this photo and the kids were both not wanting to participate! What silly little ones.

They started the air show off with skydivers. It was really cool to see the American flag unfurl and fly in the sky. It truly is an awesome sight!


Luckily we were able to secure some ear plugs for the kids. J would have nothing to do with them, but A was quite pleased.


Two planes made a heart in the sky! Very impressive.

J was fascinated by the water holes on the ground. He is definitely a little boy.

The smaller plane (B says: P-51) got us through WWII and the larger (B says: A-10) is the plane we use today. Once again, I can't remember the names, but B could let you know.

A started a game of "you can't touch me". She would walk up and hold up her hand, and then run when I tried to grab it. She was so cute! It was nice to get some pictures of her REAL smile, and not the fake camera one that she uses.


After the air show, we thought it was only fair to let the kids have some fun too. So we took them to the other end of the airfield where there were jumpers for the kids to play on. A had NO FEAR and she wanted to go on all the big ones. I convinced her to not go in the jumper with the big kids because they were being crazy, but she enjoyed going on the slide.


On the way home, we stopped at the Cowlick for some yummy ice cream. A was asleep in the car so she missed the fun, but J was WIDE awake, and he loved every bite!

We finally put the fire pit in our table to good use! We didn't have any small kindling so B spent thirty minutes or so trying to shave off pieces of wood and then trying to get them lit. A finally said: "Mommy do it." I had to laugh. I guess I have her convinced that Mommy can do ANYTHING!


J definitely got tired of waiting. He couldn't figure out why we wanted to put a perfectly good marshmallow on a metal stick and just hold it there.
A being the BIG helper that she is, decided to pass out marshmallows to pacify her brother. It worked!


B hooked J up with his very first smore. Yummy!!

A didn't know if she really liked the stickiness, and she made a funny face at first, but then she settled into her contented humming. (She hums every time that she eats something that she finds tasty. It's quite humorous).


Finally everyone gets their fill! It was a great family night around a cozy camp fire! Come and visit, we'll fire it up and make you a smore too!

Starting Over Again

It seems that once a year I crave some sort of change in my life. Today, I am starting a new blog. Imagine that?!?! Is this the third or fourth that I have done in the past few years?

My IMO returned home this past spring, and he is working on setting up our own server in the home so that we can publish our website ourselves, but until that gets accomplished, I am unable to post anything new on-line. . . So, here we are! Hopefully, I will be able to keep up with adding new and fun things about our family.

Our family of four currently lives in NY. We are all happy and healthy! Who could ask for anything more? I have two fantastic kids who keep me on my toes, and make me laugh every day.
