So to prove me wrong, he pulled out a plastic knife. Lo and behold, it was a true statement, and it really did cut the brownie very cleanly. Just check this baby out! I was very impressed and thought I would share the break through. I'm sure you all are now saying "You didn't know that? Everyone knows that!" Haha well, I guess I'm still an old dog learning new tricks!

How to Cut a Brownie
Have you ever heard something really weird and told yourself "There's no way?" Things that you hear everyday will make your life SO much easier. I heard many months ago from someone that if you want a smooth cut on a brownie you use a plastic knife. One night after making brownies, my hubby started cutting them, and he made the comment of how they were making a mess, and I said "Why don't you use a plastic knife. I heard. . . " and he looked at me as if I was insane. Of course that made me lose my confidence and so I ended with "Well. . . I heard it somewhere."

Halloween 2011
Happy Halloween! I loved Halloween as a child, but it is harder for me to get into at this stage in my life. Maybe it is because my kids aren't into it all that much yet. I made them costumes again this year, and as with all past years, I said "This is the last time". But then I get done, and the results are so cute, that I think "Maybe I can do it one more year". So. . . we'll see.
It doesn't save any money to make your own costumes. These were close to $20 a piece with all the fabric, buttons, elastic, etc. But, they are much better quality than you would get at Walmart or other cheaper places.
We went trunk-or-treating at our church on the Wednesday before Halloween, and the kids loved it. City wide trick or treating was on Saturday, and I was going to bring the kids down town for the kid time, but when I asked them if they wanted to wear their costumes again, they said no. So. . . They wore them once. They will make cute dress up clothes though.
Fall Fun
How can you not love Fall. I just love that the weather gets a little cooler, and the bugs finally go away for the time being, and the leaves turn radiant and beautiful colors. My kids LOVE to be outside as well. #3 is still not walking, but she will go and crawl all over the yard. Unfortunately all of her clothes show this, and they are all dirt stained on the knees and probably wont make it past this season. But, it is great to see them so happy and energized!
#1 sure thinks that #3 is her doll. I have to constantly remind her that she can't pick her up and then throw her down when she is done.
Apple Orchard Field Trip
#1 had her first preschool fieldtrip, and they invited parents to come if we wanted to. I thought my younger kids would enjoy it as well, so we made it a family thing and I took them all. #1 road the bus, and she was in HEAVEN! She talks about riding the bus everyday now.

They went to the Apple Orchard, but I sure didn't see any apples. I guess it is now pumpkin season. . .

There was a huge pool of corn kernels for the kids to jump and play in. Can you tell they LOVED it? This is one of their teachers jumping with them. They LOVED her, but she has since moved to another school to be near her kids.
#1 getting on the bus to go home. Very exciting! She's always been a bit obsessed with the bus. #2 was trying to get on too, but he had to go with Mama!
