Fun with #3

Daddy loves to bring the kids out on 4-wheeler rides. For the most part they all love it! This was #3's first time for a ride. She was pretty nervous at first, but I think she enjoyed it.

#3 found the cheese. . . she didn't think that I noticed, but she was going to town!

Conference Weekend Traditions

I'm working on family traditions that will make General Conference weekend more enjoyable for the kids. I have fond memories of my family going out to buffets or parks between sessions, and I was trying to think of things that my kids would enjoy to make it a weekend that they can look forward to.

For breakfast, I have started making gourmet meals. Saturday, we had a big spread on a blanket in the living room. They were excited about the picnic, but in reality it was because we were late, but maybe we'll keep it! Saturday evening we always order Dominos. Sunday morning this year, I made crepes and the family LOVES them! (Especially if they are filled with chocolate or Nutella). Sunday afternoon we went on a walk as a family because the weather was so great. I also pulled out goody bags, coloring pages, and anything else I could think of. The kids seemed to really enjoy it and for the most part they were quiet enough for me to hear the speakers.

Bishop Storehouse/Humanitarian Center Central Warehouse

As members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, we are encouraged to fast for 2 meals on the first Sunday of each month and to donate the money that we would have used for those meals to the church to help those who are in need. Have you ever wondered where it goes? Here are pictures of the Central warehouse! It is currently 400,000 sq ft. for the Bishop Store house and the Humanitarian Aide center which is funded by the Humanitarian donations. They are working on a building that will increase the entire warehouse to being 1,000,000 sq ft. It is quite impressive!

Spring Trip to UT March 2011

The kids and I took a trip to UT over Spring break this year. Daddy was doing his thesis so he wasn't able to go. (He was very sad to miss the skiing and the family of course). My dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer this past year and so we try to take any chance we can to get out there and see him. I never knew my grandpa, and I really hope that my kids will have a chance to know theirs. He is such an amazing man! He just turned 60 this past year.

The kids loved the airport and being able to watch out the windows for the plane. We were lucky enough to find a flight that got the 4 of us out there for a little more than it would have cost to drive. Luckily #3 is still a lap child. Or maybe that wasn't so lucky since she was the only one who cried most of the flight. She did not want to stay on the lap and was so tired!

We had to take our traditional stop to Dell Taco! Man, we need those out in the midwest and in the East. We always miss their food and it is one of the first places that Daddy wants to go when he gets to UT. #1 calls their rising sun symbol a dog paw and always watches out for it!

Even #3 was really excited to be able to have yummy food!

I don't know why the kids were being reverent. Maybe they were playing primary. It was pretty cute though.

#3 wanted to try the hot sauce. . . I don't think she liked it.

On Sunday, cousins came over for dinner and we had the kids play outside. They were supposed to stay out of the sand box, so the older kids leaned over the edges and the little kids just didn't care. We finally gave up. Thank goodness for Oxyclean!! If you have kids and haven't tried it, you will LOVE IT! I actually got dried blood all out of a nice dress by soaking it for an hour or so. Looks like new!

Uncle Donnie became a kid favorite when he began wrestle mania at night! The kids were all laughs!
