Great Anniversary Gift

Some ladies prefer chocolates and flowers, but I was very happy with my Anniversary/Mother's Day Gift.  Our good camera had died and gone the way of the technical toy graveyard, and so daddy purchased me a new toy to document all of our family fun!  He was so lucky that his picture was the first one snapped!  Here are some of our new shots!

#4 has been affectionately nicknamed "Grandpa Bill".  When he smiles, his whole face lights up and is adorable just like his Great Grandpa.  (He has also been cursed with the same widows peak!  Way cute!)

Can you tell these two apart?
Yes, they are two different babies.

Most people who see # 4 always see this face.  The happy smiling one. When they see him crying they are shocked that he is able to do so.  He is over all a very happy and loving baby. Even when teething.

#4 learned how to sit up in the past month or so.  He also loves to do mind puzzles as you can see above.  He at least chews them over.

#3 Fell asleep at the top of the stairs.  She is such a sweetie.  She had gotten up from her nap to go potty and then laid back down at the top of the stairs and fell asleep.

While daddy was working on the deck, he picked up some sand for under the paving stones.  The kids enjoyed playing in the back of the trailer and it kept them out of trouble.

Who's snitching my cheese?

Do these two look a like or what?  My kids eyes are now turing more green than blue.
#1=blue,  #2 &3 = green  #4=???

Daddy playing with black and white.

#4 had learned how to crawl (well. . . scoot around)

#3 asleep on the computer desk.  She was barely on the chair.

Jump Rope for Heart

#1 participated in her first jump rope for heart.  She had a great time and was excited to earn money to help others. She is starting to learn how to jump rope.  Thank you to all who contributed to her adventure.

Trip to National Zoo

The National Zoo is a pretty nice place. I like that it is in the middle of a HUGE city and yet while you are there it is pretty quiet and peaceful for the most part.  The kids love to go there to see the animals.

We were lucky to be there while the tiger was roaring and going to get a drink.  On the other side are the lions.

#3 Looking at her mommy!  I love this little munchkin!

#1 comparing her hand to a lion paw.

Daddy's Uncle Tom and Aunt Jean came to visit.

Uncle Tom & #4!

#1 and #4.  She wasn't able to cheer him up

Birthday Party Fun

Daddy's Uncle and Aunt sent the kids new clothes from Hawaii. They wanted to put them on right away.  #2 loves his "hand" shirt.

#2 had his birthday!  He wanted to have a party since he has never had one before. Since Daddy was out of town I let him invite 2 friends over  and they had a blast.  It was pretty low key because all they wanted to do was play.  It made for fun!  The favorite was hide and seek around the whole house.  Lots of laughs and fun.  I killed two cakes so the last version was pretty interesting since I ran out of eggs and had to use a substitute.  Hmmmm.. For his birthday when Daddy came home, we made cookies! There were 4 but someone ate one. . Oh well it was his birthday!

I was so happy that I got these expressions on camera.  What a cute boy!

Snow Storm in Maryland

This was one of the lousiest snow storms that I had ever seen.  It snowed and then just iced over so it was pretty gross, but the kids LOVED it and to them it was the best snow in the world!  They were so excited and wanted to get outside and eat it all.

#1 skating down the driveway

#2 & 3 eating the snow. . . yes, gross!

My philosophy is "If you can't get them to stop, get a picture"

My brother is heavy!

#1 rolling down the hill

A neighbor friend came over and the kids enjoyed sledding down the driveway.  The ground quickly became a muddy mess, but they had fun.

Camera Fun

I've decided that from now on when I play with the camera, I should at least clean my kids faces first. Hmm. Overrated I know. . .  They still are sure cute!

I lost the original pictures of #4's blessing day, so I put him back in his outfit and snapped more photos.  I finished it in October and I think my Mom may have fixed a few of the things at the end.  It turned out pretty nifty!

Provident Living

Oh the dreaded word! When you hear the term "provident living" do you think of all the areas of your life that you don't have time to focus on yet? Hmmm. That would be me! I was given the assignment in my church to assist the women and therefore their families in living more providently i.e. helping them prepare for the rainy days that might come.

So. . . if you have any ideas or advice that I might be able to use I would love it! I'm looking for gardening ideas/tips, canning tips, ways to save a buck, ideas for food storage. What has and hasn't worked. Anything really! I figure why reinvent the wheel when others have things that already work! You can e-mail me any ideas or post them here for me to find!

Thanks!! More exciting and picture filled blogs to follow!
